Praxis adds to brite stock capabilities

In an effort to answer the unique brite stock packaging needs of its customer base, Praxis Packaging Solutions (Grand Rapids, MI) has added a new Hybrid Heat Tunnel machine to its production line.

“This new heat tunnel combines steam and electric infrared heat to help wrap difficult, precise, or widely contoured containers”, said Scott Hanmer, Senior Vice President of Praxis Packaging Solutions.

The added capability allows Praxis to meet the brite stock needs for the varying shapes of bottles or containers. “No longer are bottles a standard size or shape”, says Hanmer.  “Our customers are getting creative with their packaging and we needed a solution to help them meet their unique designs.”

The patented Hybrid Heat Tunnel uses only a little steam so the process is drier than steam-only tunnels while providing more precise shrink capabilities than an electric-only tunnel.

In addition to the new hybrid heat tunnel, over the last few months Praxis has added new clamshell and blister packaging machines plus a third stretch pack machine to its production floor. “It seems like every month we are adding new equipment to increase our capacity and capabilities”, said Hanmer. “Our ability to answer customer needs, no matter how complex, has never been greater than it is today.”
