Praxis Hits Milestone on Newly Integrated Primary Packaging Line in Grand Rapids, MI
Grand Rapids, MI, July 17, 2013 – Praxis Packaging Solutions announced today that their newly integrated primary packaging line filled its millionth bottle of OTC drug product at its Grand Rapids, MI headquarters after just 100 days of commercial production.
It was only 11 months ago that Praxis made the business decision to vertically integrate its secondary packaging with primary tablet fill packaging. Since then, the company was able to source and install equipment, fully train on new procedures, and have the line validated and functional within the first six months.
“We wanted to extend our turnkey approach to not only handle finished goods, but to go one step further and pack bulk tablets into bottles,” stated Scott Hanmer, Vice President of Sales.
Scott Wells, Managing Director form the PharmAgility Consulting Group, who has had past experience with Praxis as a previous customer contact noted, “Moving from an active warehouse to a fully functioning filling line in six months just doesn’t happen — it truly was a special effort by all involved, and of course, we did use the best business solutions, including a warehouse management system!” Now that we have improved our facilities, we’ll be sure to start using new equipment such as the best teardrop pallet rack system.
After handling commercial product inside its walls since early January, operating under rigorous quality regulations, Praxis has earned sustainable entry into the primary packaging market with the integration of this flexible and custom packaging line.
Supported by a carefully recruited tablet fill team and relentless focus on quality standards, Praxis is equipped with the expertise, skill-sets and confidence needed to run a multiple shift tablet fill operation.
“We are very excited to have reached the milestone of the one millionth bottle produced on the line,” said Mike Bourdo, Director of Operations. “It is truly amazing what the Praxis Team has achieved. A real tribute to the committment and dedication of all who were involved in the installation and start-up.”
Praxis will continue to develop its diverse packaging services, produce exceptional finished goods, and maintain reliable customer service that caters to the varying needs of their customers.
